Fuck I’m walking downtown and I pass a group of guys staring at me and I think “great catcall time” but then one guy goes “you look like you could kill a man a million different ways with just your bare hands”. This. This is an acceptable comment to give a girl on the street.

Illustrations by Beatrix Potter

Did you know that Beatrix Potter was an accomplished botanical illustrator? She painted mushrooms and plants long before she illustrated the children’s books for which she’s so well-known.

You can see her eye for the natural world in her later illustrations, like this water beetle in The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher. While Mrs. Potter never had children of her own, she had pets and collected natural history, fossil, and anthropological specimens throughout her life, giving her inspiration for her books.
